It was stated in the response to the appeal of Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, to the Administration of the President of Ukraine regarding protection of the National Parks "Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslava" and "Buzkii Hrad."

In 2009, to protect the valuable natural complexes and objects of the steppe zone, as well as unique natural and historic-cultural complexes in the basin of Southern Buh, the National Nature Parks "Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslava" and "Buzkii Hrad" were established according to the President´s Order of Viktor Yushchenko. In April 2010, despite the mass protests of Mykolaiv ecological and public organization, the Standing Committee on Environmental Matters brought in and passed the draft appeal to Viktor Yanukovych, President of Ukraine, with the request to scrutinize the issue on cancellation of the Orders of the President of Ukraine "On Establishment of the National Nature Park "Buzkii Hrad" and "On Establishment of the National Nature Park "Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslava."

As initiator of the promotion action "7 Wonders of Ukraine", M. Tomenko reminds that in 2008, "Buzkii Hrad" as a part of the landscape park "Hranitno-Stepove Pobuzhzhia" became one of the winners of the all-Ukrainian action "7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine" and Kinburnska Kosa that forms the reserve "Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslava" is one of the action finalists.

However, response sent by the Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine S. Liovochkin states that the President of Ukraine is willing to support the initiatives regarding the extension of network of the national reserves and nature parks in Ukraine; moreover, he supervises the situation concerning the newly created "Buzkii Hrad" and "Biloberezhzhia Sviatoslava."

"I am convinced that the public and experts will also control this issue and our common efforts will prevent liquidation territories of the national nature parks of Mykolaiv region or their possible use for the private purposes", M. Tomenko emphasized.
